(q - 3/4)(q + 1/4)

First - q x q = q^2 ( q squared)

Outer - q x 1/4 = 1/4q

Inner - 3/4 x q = - 3/4q

Last - -3/4 x 1/4 = - 3/16

Add all in that order, combine like terms if necessary.

q^2 - 2/4q - 3/16
