For this question we start but dividing $8.50 by 100 (8.50/100 = 0.085).
Then we multiple the answer by 6 (0.085*6 = $0.51).
We then add $0.51 to the original $8.50 (0.51+8.50 = $9.01).
Therefore the answer is B. $9.01
