Hi there!

This force is kinetic energy. The bug generates this force by using energy to move its leg(s), making it move forward. The origin of the energy comes from the food that the bug eats. The food is then turned into calories (energy) and stored as potential energy before the bug uses it as kinetic energy.

Hope this helps!
