The most ancient of rocks which humans have discovered on all continents dates to approximately 3.5 billion years ago. These have been found on all continents on Earth. Along with more recent, but extinct animal and plant life fossils that have been discovered on all the continents, helping to support the idea of Pangaea, or a single landmass on Earth, some 200-270 million years ago.
