How can I put (4,1) and a slope of -1 into an equation?

y - 1 = -1(x - 4)

That is how you put it into an equation

find the y-intercept, which in this case is (0,5) and the y value of the y-intercept is "b" in y=mx+b.  "m" is the slope.

y=-1x+5
