Why does Macbeth have to face his enemies basically alone?

The short answer is because the whole country is against him. The longer one is that he has no one left: he killed his advisor, all of his servants saw what he became while everyone else also found out about his conspiracies and plots. On top of that even his wife killed herself. So, everyone deserted him and those who could have stood by him are dead.
