The origin is basically the point (0, 0). So, using that coordinate and (-15, 8), substitute the values in the distance formula.

Distance = √(x2 - x1)² + (y2 - y1)²

= √(-15 - 0)² + (8 - 0)²

= √(-15)² + (8)²

= √225 + 64

= √289

= 17

Solution: 17
