Represent and then add up these consecutive, positive, even integers:

x + (x+2) + (x+4) + (x+6) = 116

Then 4x + 12 = 116, or 4x = 104.  Then x=26.
First integer is 26; second is 28; third is 30; fourth is 32.

Add these up.  If the sum = 116, you'll know these answers are correct.
