well it depends on the shape. 

To calculate the formula of a cube is V=L*W*H.
To calculate the formula of a rectangular prism it's also V=L*W*H.
To calculator the formula of a triangle v= 1/2 a*c*h.
TO calculate the formula of a cylinder it is pi radius squared height. 
The formula to a pyramid it is going to be 1/3 B*h. 
The formula to a sphere it is going to be 4/3 pi radius 3. hope that helped
