What happens to a line when the y-intercept is changed ?

check the picture below.

notice the original blue line with a y-intercept of y = 1, it goes up 2 units, then goes down 3 units, notice what happens to the line.

so, the y-intercept acts like a seesaw, if you change it, the line goes over the seesaw.
