To solve this we first use the concept that 1 yard = 36 inches. Taking this fact we now setup the expression of $2.79/yard * (1 yard/36 inches) to convert yards to inches in the denominator. The final price of the ribbon per inch is $0.077/inch and rounding to nearest cent gives us $0.08/inch.
