-3p -(-8 + 4p)

First distribute. Multiply each number inside the parentheses by -1.
-3p + (-1*-8) + (-1*4p)
-3p + 8 - 4p

Now combine -3p and -4p.
-7p + 8

-7p + 8 is the answer.
