Subtract 2x from both sides

-3y=-2x+8

Divide both sides by -3

y=2/3x-8/3

so

2x-3y=8
minus 2x both sides
-3y=-2x+8
divide both sides by -3
y=(-2/-3)x+(8/-3)
y=2/3 x-8/3
