we have the equation

[tex]\frac{x}{4}-\frac{y}{3}=1[/tex]

To remove the fractions, multiply both sides by (4*3=12)

[tex]\begin{gathered} \frac{12x}{4}-\frac{12y}{3}=12 \\ 3x-4y=12 \\ 4y=3x-12 \\ y=\frac{3}{4}x-3 \end{gathered}[/tex]

this is the equation of a line

that means

is a linear equation
