[tex](4\frac{1}{12},\frac{5}{2})(\frac{10}{7},\frac{4}{7})[/tex]

the mid point is between 10/7 and 4 1/2

we can use an average to calculate the midpoint

so

[tex]\begin{gathered} \frac{\frac{10}{7}+4\frac{1}{2}}{2} \\ \\ \frac{\frac{83}{14}}{2} \\ =\frac{83}{28}\approx2.96 \end{gathered}[/tex]

now on Y

[tex]\begin{gathered} \frac{\frac{5}{2}+\frac{4}{7}}{2} \\ =\frac{43}{28}\approx1.53 \end{gathered}[/tex]

and the point is

[tex](\frac{83}{28},\frac{43}{28})[/tex]
