1) Pick 2 points intercepted by the line in this case (0,1) and (5,-1)

2) Plug them into the formula:

3) There you have the slope.

y= -2/5x +b

4) Plugging into

(0,1)

1=-2/5(0)+b

b=1

So the function is f(x) = -2/5x +1
