Joan and amber have a combined age of 34. If amber is 2 years less than twice Joan's age, how old is each girl?

Joan: 12 years old
Amber: 22 years old

     If Amber is 2 years less than twice the age of Joan that means that Joan's age (12) times 2 (=24), minus 2 (=22) gives u Amber's age. Also when the two ages are added 12+22 they equal 34
