Answer: They wanted to spread christianity by conqouring more lands and growing their economy. Land gave them more resources and resources grew thier economy + filled their thirst for $$. Slaves were great for labor/ $$. So it's all of them. :) GOD. GLORY & Gold were their motivations for exploration.
