Answer: (-1,2)

Steps:

Solve by elimination

Multiply the first equation by 2 to make the coefficients of x in both equations the same

2(x+2y=3)

2x+4y=6

Then line them up and subtract

2x+y=0
-2x+4y=6

= -3y=-6

Divide both sides by -3 to isolate y

y=2

Then substitute 2 for y into one of the equations to find x.

x+2(2)=3

x+4=3

x=-1
