What is the slope of the line that passes through the points (1, -8) and (-5, 10)?

Hi

You have two points     A ( X;Y)  and B ( X ; Y)

slope is   :    ( Yb -Ya)   / (Xb -Xa )

A (1; -8)   B ( -5 ; 10)

so :    '  (10 - -8 )  /  ( -5 - 1) =   18 /-6 =  -3
