now you multiply the -2 to x and 4 so you get (-2x+2)-4
now i would put x to one side so
3x+3=(-2x+2)-4
+2x      +2x
5x+3=2-4
= 5x+3=-2
now you get the numbers alone
5x+3=-2
   -3    -3
5x=-5
now divide both by 5
x= -1
