zn(No3)2=x+(5*2)+(-2*6)=x+10-12=x-2

x-2+2=2

x=2

the oxidation of Ag in AgNo3

AgNo3=x+5+(3*-2)=x+5-6=x-1

x-1+1=1

x=1 while the oxidation number of Ag is zero

so zinc is oxidized and silver (Ag) is reduced
