Answer: [tex]5.1\times 10^{-6}M[/tex]

Explanation:

pH or pOH is the measure of acidity or alkalinity of a solution.

pH is calculated by taking negative logarithm of hydrogen ion concentration.

[tex]pH=-\log [H^+][/tex]

[tex]pH+pOH=14[/tex]

Putting in the values:

[tex]pH=14-8.71=5.29[/tex]

[tex]5.29=-log[H^+][/tex]

[tex][H^+]=5.1\times 10^{-6}[/tex]

Thus [tex][H^+][/tex] is [tex]5.1\times 10^{-6}M[/tex]
