Since you know the slope of line [tex] y_{1} [/tex] is 2 and that the lines are parallel, you can find the slope of [tex] y_{2} [/tex] by flipping the slope upside down and making it negative (-[tex] \frac{1}{2} [/tex]. You can see on the coordinate grid that [tex] y_{2} [/tex] crosses the y-axis at 1. When you piece these facts together into slope-intercept form, it becomes [tex] y_{2} [/tex] = -[tex] \frac{1}{2} [/tex]x + 1.
