How does the distance around a circle relate to its diameter

The distance around the circle is called the circumference.

The circumference is equal to two times pi (3.14) times the radius (C = 2•3.14(pi)•r

And because the diameter is equal to two times the radius, the circumference is equal to the diameter times 3.14.
