Answer:

Lots of people disagree on what caused it but a majority agree that it was Americans. They say that if Americans hadn't dropped the atomic bomb things wouldn't have escalated.

Yep, I agree with the last answer, many people say that the Americans caused it because of the Atomic Bomb dropped by Harry S Truman onto Japan.
