A event that contributed to the American Revolution was the unfair taxes placed upon the colonists. Playing cards and sugar all the way to tea got taxed, and this made people angry. Obviously, if someone is angry at a king, they will want to get themselves out of his rule by separating themselves from him or overthrowing him. Also, British soldiers forced themselves into people's houses, and that made them dislike the rule.
