To solve this you plug in x=-6y+5 into the equation above it. You then get:
3(-6y+5)+7y=4
You now distribute the 3 to each value in the parentheses, and you end up with
-18y+15+7y=4
You now combine like terms and get
-11y+15=4
Subtract 15 from both sides of the equal sign to get -11y=-11
You then divide -11 on each side and get y=1. You now plug in this value into x=-6y+5 and find that x=-1. The answer can also be written as (-1,1)
