To answer the question above, we first divide his salary increase which is 15,000 by his previous yearly salary of 90,000. Then multiply the result by 100%. This can be expressed mathematically as,  

                             (15,000/ 90,000) x 100% = 16.67%

Thus, the man's salary increase by about 16.67%.
