The major conflict that exists in ”Two Kinds” deals with d) a generation gap. The story talks about mother-daughter relationship. It is due to her mother's wants against her plans for herself that bring about the conflict in the story. It was hurtful in her part to hear directly from her mother that she wished she be dead just like her half sisters who are twins.
