John Locke thought that people could do whatever they wanted as long as it didn't violate other people's "life, health, liberty, or possessions", and he thought these rights were natural rights that humans have simply because they are human. In which they cannot be taken away, or they are unalienable. Locke thought that people had the right to own property, and you can protect that property. Also, he believed that people had to follow their leader, an idea called the consent of the governed.
