Answer:

The colonists were enraged by the Proclamation of 1763. Land starved colonists had longed to move west to seek land and fortune. Now they held nothing but frustration. After all, the colonists helped support the war effort in order to destroy the French in North America. They had shown their loyalty toward Britain. After helping win the war, they were now being denied the fruits of victory.
