Find all polar coordinates of point P = (6, 31°). Please explain steps and show work.

Solution:

P=(6, 31°)

P=(r , ∠ A)

r= Distance from origin to point P=6

∠A=31°, →Angle made by line with positive direction of x axis.

Now, polar coordinates is given by,

x= r cos A, and y= r sin A

x=6 cos 31°, y= 6 sin 31°

x= 6 × 0.915  and , y= 6 × 0.515

→ x= 5.490, and y=3.090  ⇒⇒Polar coordinates
