The people from the frontiers of Scotland, England and Northern Ireland are called Scots-Irish. The Scots-Irish in the British Isles were homeless due to the warfare and conflict or battle for land or expansion of territories by conquering the land. Thus, their homeless background which was war-torn had prepared them both physically and mentally for fighting to protect their lives on the American border.
