[tex]9^{\frac{1}{8} }[/tex]x

and all raised to the power [tex]\frac{1}{2}[/tex] x

multiply [tex]\frac{1}{4}[/tex] × [tex]\frac{1}{2}[/tex] x = [tex]\frac{1}{8}[/tex] x
