If you move 50 meters in 10 seconds, what is your speed (rate)

Speed is a calculation of distance over time.

So, if we divide our distance, by our time, we will get speed.


So

[tex]50 \divide 10 = x\\x = 5[/tex]

The speed is 5 meters per second

or 5 m/s (Just a different way of expressing the units)
