On a number line, moving to the left 15 points would land us at -15. Moving to the right 20 points would land us at 20. The amount of points in between those two points is 35. We can find this out by calculating the difference of 20 and -15.
20 - (-15)
The negatives cancel out, making the equation 20 + 15, which is 35. :)
