[tex]\frac{3}{2}x[/tex] - 4 = 16

[tex]\frac{3}{2}x[/tex]  = 20    added 4 to both sides

3x = 40       multiplied both sides by 2

x = [tex]\frac{40}{3}[/tex]     divided both sides by 3

Answer: x = [tex]\frac{40}{3}[/tex]
