The fraction [tex]\frac{7d^2}{14d^4}[/tex] is basically the same as [tex]\frac{7d * d}{14d * d * d * d}[/tex]. To simplify this, subtract d² from the exponents. You will end up with [tex]\frac{7}{14d^2}[/tex], which simplifies into [tex]\frac{1}{2d^2}[/tex]. Hope this helped.
