Hello!

A Physical change does not change the identity of a substance. Ex: Tearing paper into pieces. It changes how the paper looks but not the paper itself. \

A chemical change does change the identity of a substance. Ex: Digesting food.  The food changes from a solid food-like substance to a liquid substance.

I hope this helps and have a great day!
