Is this a True / False exercise? If yes then:

a) (x+5)/ 7 = 5

<=> x+5 = 5*7

<=> x+5 = 35

<=> x = 35 - 5 = 30

So a) is True

b) 50 = 1/3x + 5

<=> 50 - 5 = 1/3x

<=>  45 = x/3

<=>  45*3 = x

<=> x = 135

So b) is False
