7/7 - 3/7 = 4/7 is the fraction of the money left.

$16 is the money left. We need to get the whole value before we get the equivalent value of 3/7

16 ÷ 4/7 ⇒ 16 * 7/4 = (16*7)/4 = 112/4 = $28 original amount of money.

28 x 3/7 = (28*3)/7 = 84/7 = $12 amount of money spent on the game.

$12 + $16 = $28
