The answers are x = 6 and z = 83

z can be found through the fact that the straight line created by it and the 97 degree angle would add to 180 degrees. After subtracting 97 from the 180 total, the answer of 83 would be apparent. 

As for the x, the opposite angles will equal each other. Therefore: 

11x + 31 = 97 ----> Subtract 31 from both sides
11x = 66 ---> Divide both sides by 11
x = 6
